Further Down That Path

June 7, 2009 | 2nd Amendment, Constitution, Judicial, Militia

Listen my children and you shall hear Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere, On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five; Hardly a man is now alive Who remembers that famous day and year. Some may know the relevance of the 19th of April from the words of Henry Wadsworth Longefellow as he immortalized the beginning of the Revolution with the poetic tale of one of America's Minute Men. The Militia at Lexington, Massachusetts mustered some fifty to sixty men in response to the alert, and to show their displeasure with the conduct of the Crown, and his rule. Captain Parker, a pastor, told the men of the Militia, "Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon. But if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." Eight brave men of the Organized Militia died on that day.  They were not members of a National Guard, or some other pretend unit that the courts would refer to in order to limit the ability of the People to arm themselves so that they might have the resources to block a tyrannical state. Yes, whether you believe it or not, the reason behind the Militia was to protect against not only lawlessness, but also an abusive government. And whether you believe it or not, we long ago proved that this government should have been torn apart, and reconstructed in its intended image. For those who reason otherwise, I suggest you go to the local law library, and examine the length of the United States Code. Thousands of statutes, whose interpretations are periodically changed by un-elected officials, and judicial proclamations that are designed, with the intent, to keep the citizen off guard, and constantly struggling to survive the machinations of the legal system. There has to be a buffer, some apparatus that allows the People to fight back when words, and procedures fail. In Federalist 29, Alexander Hamilton wrote, "There is something so far-fetched and so extravagant in the idea of danger to liberty from the militia, that one is at a loss whether to treat it with gravity or with raillery; whether to consider it as a mere trial of skill, like the paradoxes of rhetoricians; as a disingenuous artifice to instil prejudices at any price; or as the serious offspring of political fanaticism. Where in the name of common-sense, are our fears to end if we may not trust our sons, our brothers, our neighbors, our fellow-citizens? What shadow of danger can there be from men who are daily mingling with the rest of their countrymen and who participate with them in the same feelings, sentiments, habits and interests? What reasonable cause of apprehension can be inferred from a power in the Union to prescribe regulations for the militia, and to command its services when necessary, while the particular States are to have the sole and exclusive appointment of the officers? If it were possible seriously to indulge a jealousy of the militia upon any conceivable establishment under the federal government, the circumstance of the officers being in the appointment of the States ought at once to extinguish it. There can be no doubt that this circumstance will always secure to them a preponderating influence over the militia." We are engaged in a great war for the minds of the people of this nation. On the one hand there are those in government, subversive groups such as The Brady Campaign to prevent gun violence, its allies in the media, and national corporations who work tirelessly in order that they might wrest power from the People. On the other there are the wary who see what conspiracies have been laid to promote such an agenda. It is to the benefit of the former group to deceive the witless tools so that their ignorance might be used to trivialize those who dissent. The agenda to make the people toothless began when the federal government destroyed the military arm of the People, and created the National Guard, whose officers are not appointed by the states, and therefore do not meet constitutional muster. Then slowly, but surely, the media began to demonize the word militia so that the simple minded who are seduced by the power of the press believe that the rightful organization is some sort of racist clan, and now, as recently labeled, a terrorist threat. As Hamilton noted, "a disingenuous artifice to instil prejudices at any price..." How simple is it to read, and understand the words of our Founding Fathers. They were posted in the press of the day, are immortalized in our originating documents, and prolific in the diaries and journals of the men, and women who founded this great nation. It seems that we are unwilling to admit that the so-called experts are nothing but spin masters for the powers that be. Talking heads, as the current term details, for promoting the will of those whose only task appears to be the fall of freedom. Now the current president has nominated one Sonia Sotomayor for the High Court, to conspire with the other rabid anti-constitution players he has gathered around him. Sotomayor has stated that the Second Amendment does not apply to the states. Let's examine the logic behind that opinion. The Constitution was written as a document to outline the setup of the government, how it was to function, and what powers it was granted by the People. There are words in the document that worried men such as Patrick Henry who understood the nature of power, and how it seeks to pervert so that it may garner more power. The phrase 'general welfare' was of particular concern since it might easily be manipulated to create authority nowhere listed in the Constitution. The Thirteen Colonies had just ended a long and costly war to throw off the yoke of a monarch. There was fear, and rightfully so, that a strong central government would emerge, and begin to draw all power to the core of those within its structure. The states demanded a clarification of liberty, and so the Bill of ...

Glenn Beck’s ”War Room“ Experts Discuss Worst Case Scenarios

February 21, 2009 | Constitution, Economy, Foreign Policy, Founding Documents, Militia

On the evening of Feb 21, 2009, Glenn Beck was joined by Stephen Moore, former CIA operative Bob Baer, and former CIA employee Michael Scheuer, and forecaster Gerald Celente. The panel discusses possible scenarios that could play out in the U.S. in the coming months, and years. Rather than refuse to think about it,  you might want to consider watching this 3-part program that has gathered  these panelists from all fields to address unthinkable scenarios.  As Glenn Beck states: "When you refuse to consider the unthinkable, thinking stops, and when thinking stops, actions become mindless."There are issues here that we all should be thinking about. When times get rough, rough things happen."  Here is a look at what some experts are saying. Part I [youtube iPZi0_p4gg4] Part II [youtube jcIbPTEYNuI] Part III [youtube EOFgTvNqRJE]

The Militia, The NRA, and Other Misconceptions

February 12, 2009 | Constitution, Founders, Militia

In order to maintain a free state the people of this country must be armed. Not just armed for our own self-protection, which is a function of nature, we must also be part of the Organized Militia. While we may want to live under the illusion that we are a civilized people abhorred by the thought of violence, it is that same state of mind that perpetuates violence by the state. Rather than demanding compliance from the servant government we are content to sit back, and absorb the abuses, particularly if it does not appear in fact at our doorstep. With this lack of action we have created an environment that allows government representatives to continue a march towards the obliteration of our rights without just authority. Samuel Adams said, "And that the said Constitution be never construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press, or the rights of conscience; or to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms; or to raise standing armies, unless necessary for the defense of the United States, or of some one or more of them; or to prevent the people from petitioning, in a peaceable and orderly manner, the federal legislature, for a redress of grievances; or to subject the people to unreasonable searches and seizures of their persons, papers or possessions."   That we must remain a free and morale people should stand as unassailable truths, but the facts are plain that our representatives at every level have little or no regard for the truth. It is an abomination to their continual quest to undermine the power of the people. Free is how we come to this existence. We did not set foot upon the Earth to be pushed and shoved about by powers that are in direct contradiction to our needs, and desires. In the course of history there have been those who sought to rule with an iron fist making all in their land subjects to their whim. First, and foremost for the subjugation of the masses is the standing army, police, or some other instrument of force given a free hand to intimidate the people. Second, is to make sure that the people neither have the will, nor the tools to resist. Third, is to create an atmosphere of fear. Fear of the ruling class, and their minions, and fear of the very instruments needed to supplant the dictator. The Second Amendment does not simply guarantee a right of the individual to Keep and Bear Arms. It highlights the necessity that a free state is dependant upon the fact that the people themselves have the means to martial their actions against the government when it extends itself beyond the confines of our law. I say our law because we united under the reason that "Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..." Those words were purposely placed in our Declaration of Independence as a statement of style and force of the newly formed country. They are the essence of this particular form of government, but through years of judicial corruption, and compliance by a pathetically corrupt education system, we have been taught just the opposite of what was originally intended. This site was not intended as a straightforward documentation of the news. Rather our intent was to provide some commentary in a method that broke off from all other media to discuss what the problems might be, and how the necessity to adhere to the rule of law should be applied as a solution. There is enough news posted in this site in the Headlines, and now our Newswire, to keep the wary going. We place what we believe to be important news in the forums in the hope that we would elicit some discussion on the topic, and perhaps some original thoughts on solutions. What we have found, not only in the forum, but in general communications is an obvious lack of interest in being involved. There are two sides to this story that conflict with each other. Those who have an interest in preserving a free and open society are far less likely to commitment than those who seek to place restrictions on the rest of us. We have in this country a mindset that has in all likelihood been promoted by a thoroughly inept education system, and a controlled media. The notion that we should stand upon our constitutional rights is on the verge of becoming an unlawful act. Yes, you read that correctly. An FBI brochure on terrorism sites those who reference the Constitution as potential terrorists. We are so tied into propaganda that most seem not to be able to distinguish fact from fiction. Take for instance the NRA, and its stance on gun control. Make no mistake that this organization has sponsored, and promoted some of the most restrictive gun laws, and has manipulated its membership into believing that it is fighting to preserve the rights from which the government is restricted from action. An NRA board member recently told me that about forty-percent of the organization is opposed to the ownership of what are referred to as assault-weapons. In fact, he had received some very disturbing e-mail on his support for the right to own whatever firearms you choose. The problem, in part, is that at least some of the membership is of the firm belief that if they turn over others, they themselves will be spared. Samuel Adams further said, "A general dissolution of the principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy.... While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue, they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.... If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security."   Believe me when I tell you that virtue and reason have abandoned us. ...

Fathers Day

June 11, 2008 | General, History, Militia

Throughout history man has risen to the fight to protect his family and home from dangers, and perils inherent in this life of ours. The skill as a fighter and farmer were interwoven into a tight mindset of survival of the fittest. Eventually peace ensues, and the sword is beaten into plow shears, but the instinct to protect his loved ones remained. That is but a memory to most today. The concept of protecting family and property from marauders slips from the character of the American male. Government encroaches on every aspect of our lives. Thieves are awarded huge sums of money for having been injured during the course of an attack on the sanctity of the home. Self-defense is questionable, and in some states the concept is actually banned and considered worse than the incursion from the intruder. My home is my Castle, and I wish to feel safe behind its doors and walls. I want to know that I can fend off illegal, and unlawful intrusion into my home. I want to be able to use sufficient force without fear of reprisal from the local government for the simple act that innately exists in all of us. The prospect of being defenseless during an attack should frighten any male who takes up the creation of a house and home. Having a wife and children dependant upon your martial skills is an awesome responsibility that should be taken seriously even if we are of the illusion that this is a safe world and the police will protect us. There was an old saying that has disappeared from the American culture. It was created at a time when the West was wild and settlers moved to their promised land. It was something well known to the pilgrim traveling long and hard to find his homestead, "God created man, and Sam Colt made them equal." I'm sure that the quiet nature of today's male would count this among the abominations of a now docile society. The use of firearms is none-the-less part of our history, as we became a nation to which millions flocked for freedom. Most men seek quiet, some even at the price of their own lives and that of their family. It is a difficult path to take and out of synch with our level of spiritual development. The brigand and ruffian control not only our streets, but also the halls of our legislatures. While our soul might clamor for peace and tranquility we have not chosen that time for ourselves. Each and every one of us is capable of seeing the truth, and contributing to the task of elevating this planet to a world of harmony, but not today. There should not be one amongst us who does not crave the serenity of traveling unabated, and without fear, or sitting calmly under our roof secure in the knowledge that our home is considered sacred to all. This is not our time for the plow shears. It is a time for men of action who will go forward and change the world so that their children can enjoy the steady calm that escapes us today. We do have a choice and stake in the outcome. We can act now to remove each and every incumbent from office and start anew. We can demand that the state legislatures rearm the Militia so that Fundamental Law is obeyed and executed. We can demand from our representatives that the power of the Grand Jury is taken from the government prosecutor, and returned to the people, so that all transgressions can be meaningfully remedied. We can remove every judge that disrespects the Constitution. I choose the vote and the debate to reconcile the differences that have risen from the blatant abuse of power that controls the system. However, I am not one who takes this course for the perceived safety that it ascribes. It is to the benefit of all if we as a nation open our minds and rectify the problems we now face in a calm and peaceful manner. But, let us never forget who we are and what our responsibility demands. I am sure that many are familiar with the story of the 300 Spartans, who fought and died at the narrow pass of Thermopylae against a vastly superior Persian force. The 300 were the personal guard of King Leonidas, but on that day he did not take the youngest and strongest, instead he chose only veterans. While history turns to myth and stories as old as the battle of Thermopylae become legend, we sometimes need to call upon them to inspire ourselves for coming events. As legend would have it, the Greeks were aware of the size of King Xerxes force. Leonidas understood that to hold the pass, while feasible, might very well cost him dearly. He asked that only fathers, those with young sons who would carry on the family, come in defense of their country. Be it fact or fiction it is an inspirational tale of what fatherhood means. Throughout history, kings, barons and generals have called upon only fathers to fight a battle that seemed hopeless. It struck me some time ago that I had a great deal to loose, as a father, if I failed to stand up for what I thought was right. I would deliver to my children, and yours, a land that became devoid of true freedom, and real prosperity. Too many of us equate fatherhood with bringing the kids to soccer, or baseball, dancing or karate. How many ever have a conversation about the Constitution and our Founding Fathers, or the true meaning of the Bill of Rights? Today they would simply be regurgitating the government line on democracy, the war on terrorism, the war on poverty, the war on drugs, and the fallacious call to abrogate our most precious rights. I write these articles not just for myself but also for my children. They are my stewardship through this life, and I take that most seriously. I may fail from time to time as is the ...
